I make dances that focus on inward states and how they materialize in the body. My work investigates grief and shame as states of bodily excess, and how they manifest physically through withdrawal and inward retreat. I am interested in staging concealment where the body cannot fully disappear, making visibility a compositional problem.
Compositionally, I draw from rural landscapes defined by expanse and isolation. I am interested in how separation and stillness shape attention within performance.
I build performance structures where these states of excess persist without resolution. I am interested in how these conditions unfold between bodies and objects in real time.
My work has been shown at Movement Research Open Performance, Arts on Site, Creature Space, Symphony Space, the Athenaeum Theatre (Chicago, IL), and the Eskenazi School of Architecture (Bloomington, IN).
I have performed in works by Petra Zanki, Bill T. Jones, Lina Lapelytė, Lilli Dekker/Owen Prum, Selene Carter, Liz Shea, Stafford C. Berry, Braeden Barnes, Amelia Heintzelman/Leah Fournier, Lulu Munteanu, Chloe Sonnet Brown, Abby Nelson, Rainey Scarborough and more.
